“Say no to SUGAR and switch to Sugar-free products”
May be they claim to be as sweet as sugar yet without sugar content, trust me they are just not half as good as they claim to be! I have researched on those sugar-free products to check whether they can be a good replacement for sugar products or not. I was very disappointed for two reasons. The very first is their shockingly high rates!
A normal middle class diabetic man will prefer to eat sugar instead of buying such costly sugar-free items. I won’t blame them for that. And the second reason is their almost no sugar taste that makes them a worst replacement for sugar.
While planning for a diet chart for diabetic patient, try to include fiber in it. They play a major role in defecation process. Better cut short your number of meals. Instead of 3 heavy meals in a day, opt for 4 to 5 small meals. It is very essential for a diabetic patient to eat something and not keep empty stomach at any time of the day.
Try to avoid all kinds of junk foods and bakery items because they are the main source of carbohydrates in large quantities, proving dangerous for your health. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables is a must for a diabetic patient. It will prove to be a very good medicine if you can consume bitter stuffs like bitter-gourd, fenugreek seeds etc because they act as an anti-dote!
Though you cannot enjoy the feeling of eating sugar through sugar-free items, there is no harm in eating such stuffs once in a week and in less quantity. This can be done only in case you follow a strict diet plan so that even by consuming little of such sweet stuffs won’t make a great deal of imbalance in your sugar level.
